I first discovered this amazing line of products when I was reading Kat James's www.informedbeauty.com. In her article Extreme Alternative
"It was that astronomically-priced, luxury skin cream “from the sea” that first made seaweed skin creams famous in the late nineties. So, I searched and searched and finally found a number in NYC for Dan Fryda. He took my call and explained even further his philosophy on Thalassotherapy and Aromatherapy. We discussed how definately complimentary the Spa Technologies line of products, especially the body line, would be to anyone following a Pilates regimen.
Being personally appalled at all the hype of the main-stream beauty industry with their ridiculous claims and less than appealing list of harmful ingredients, I was impressed with the idea of using food-grade algae enhanced with essential oils and all natural, mostly organic ingredients. Most people don't bother taking synthetic vitamins anymore, so why would you bother putting synthetically derived "actives" on your skin.
Okay, but all natural products are everywhere now and anyone who has ever bought a beauty prodcut at health food store knows they are not too impressive.
So,I tested some of the products Dan mentioned and realized that Spa Technologies products were medicinal, rather than superficial. They are totally unique in formulation and I immediately decided to carry them in the studio for my clients.
Since 2006 I have had great feedback on this line from my clients who use the products and many who can't live without their "staple" formulas.
